We are organising a session from 1:30pm on Friday 4th December to plant 21 special hawthorns generously donated by the Devon Gardens Trust. At least 21 Shaldon School children will be joining in, and we would like to recruit as many adults so that we have at least one per child. 21 volunteers is a lot to find but we hope you will consider coming along to help the children plant trees for their children to enjoy. It will be something of a celebration so come if you’d like to plant a tree or if you’d just like to be a part of the occasion. Maybe bring a camera and a friend.
We plan to set up the gazebo in the morning so would appreciate help with that as it’s a bit awkward. Also as it’s so close to the Volunteer Work day we suggest the tree planting day replaces our December session.
I have been coming to the gardens for the last 40 years and this week visited for the first time in over 4 years and i loved all the work that has been carried out. They are so tidy and thought out it was a pleasure to spend some time there and enjoy all the views. Many thanks to everyone involved.
