After several spectacularly wet work days had to be cancelled, Sunday 14th October saw a fine sunny day. Over 30 young volunteers from Young Devon arrived with their planned projects, plants bought from their own fundraising and tools they had encouraged Morrisons to donate. This astute group of enormously skilled school students and undergrads from our corner of Devon worked their socks off and impressed everyone who saw them with their hard work and enthusiasm. They planted bulbs and border plants, cleaned paths, steps and stonework, repaired fences, cut back overgrown grass and cleared debris. They even laid on a barbecue at lunchtime! In just one day they did what it would have taken our small group an entire season to do, and we all had a great time working side by side.
