Shortly after he was introduced to the new local pastime of catching a bouncy egg in a small bucket, Councillor Clarance officially opened the fully restored rill garden.

It was a beautiful sunny spring morning just right for photographing working councillors, egg decorating over 60s, and lots of young children whizzing about the gardens trying everything on offer, eating lots of chocolate and impressing us with their ingenuity in the Scavenge Challenge. Our apologies to parents if their offspring see clothes pegs a little differently now!  A huge thank you to everyone who came, helped and enjoyed a great Easter starter event. Think we may need to try it again next year.

Bookers and Tesco made generous donations of chocolate eggs. Morrisons were nothing short of magnificent and between them all we were able to have a great free event for lots of young children, their parents and grandparents, some local, some visiting. Thank you all. We ticked a lot of inclusivity boxes for the Heritage Lottery Grant with this event!
