We have absolutely definitely been successful with our application to the Heritage Lottery Fund and were able to make the announcement to the village at the Wine & Cheese Party in the Curry’s riverside garden – a very special evening. Wenna conjured up a delicious spread and Fred’s auctioneering skills were admired by those in his garden as well as neighbouring plots! Many thanks to Fred and Wenna for their generosity and to everyone who donated auction lots: – to Rosemary Williams whose textile masterpiece of the Castle has been bought by and for the village, to Felicity at Clochemerle, the Morgans at Farthings, and Matt Wilding , tenor of this parish. To Nic at the Zoo, Peter French at The Clipper, Phil at Orsman’s butchers, to Hair Razors, Coffee Rush, Luders and the Yummy Shop. Also to the committee and Friends who always come up trumps. And to the special person who quietly, generously boosted the evening’s total. Thank you all. Another £1,700 to add to the £347,000 we were already celebrating. Work will be underway soon.
