The volunteers had a very enjoyable morning helping out the artists Michelle Greenwood Brown and Alison Miles with creating and painting some ceramic tiles for our art work seat project. We painted varied autumn and ivy leaves shapes which had been made from the imprint of real leaves found in the botanical gardens. These will be glazed and fired for a second time. New clay pieces were made in the shape of acorns and maple leaves ready for first firing. There will be panels for the different seasons with local flora and fauna, birds, bees etc. and also a beach themed section with lifelike clay shells. The structure will get under way in May with the artwork being applied during the early summer.
